Scholarship, cash-for-care benefit and dividends are three of the nine new income variables added to microdata.no. The data are updated up to and including 2018. The database now contains 151 variables in total.
The development team are now offering microdata.no courses. As the course will be targeting users with little or no experience in the use of this analysis tool, no prior knowledge is needed.
Random population sub-selections are now possible through the new command sample.
The free period for microdata.no is extended from April 1, 2020 to January 1, 2021. All access agreements will be automatically updated. It will now be possible to convert continuous values into percentile values by using the new function quantile(). Thus, all values contained by a specific variable will be divided and placed chronologically into equally large groups. Finally, the variable values will be replaced by the respective percentile values.
Statistics Norway have added 17 new income variables to the variable pool of microdata.no, in addition to a population variable measuring the origin of the personal identification number: National identification number, temporary identification number (D-number), invalid identification number. This variable may be used for selection purposes.
Through microdata.no, it is possible to extract/import and work with data on event format. This is the built-in raw format where each unit may be represented with several observations/records associated with change events.
New milestone for microdata.no: The first two peer reviewed articles based on data and functionality in microdata.no. Both papers utilize full population register data, and perform their analyzes with bulit-in microdata.no tools.
