Largest data expansion so far: 44 new variables measuring living conditions, and household- and familiy characteristics
For the first time, total population register data about living conditions and household characteristics are now available online without the need to apply for data beforehand. In the beginning of April 2020, variables within these subjects where released in microdata.no. The data are updated until and including 2018. The total amount of variables contained by the analysis system is now 195.
As of April 3rd, 2020, microdata.no has been expanded with 36 new variables measuring living conditions and household characteristics. In addition, 8 new variables describing families have been added. A complete variable list is presented at the end of this article.
The unit type of the household- and living condition variables are persons. However, they may also be aggregated into household level. This expansion has been made possible through an initiative from the Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation, which also partly funded this job.
The household variables cover the years 2005–2019, and the living conditions variables the years 2015–2018. The variable population is residents as of 31.12.YYYY, where most are limited to persons in private households. Regarding living conditions data, there need to be established a link between the household and a residence. The values 0 and missing are excluded.
The measurement period for the new family variables is 2005–2019, and the variable population is residents as of 01.01.YYYY, limited to private households.
Including this expansion, microdata.no now has 195 variables available for analysis.
