Citation

Users are obliged to cite microdata.no as a source in all works that use data from the service.

microdata.no enables sharing of data and data preparation steps (in the form of microdata.no scripts) in a novel manner. We encourage users to add their microdata.no-script in the appendix, as demonstrated by this article: https://doi.org/10.1080/13639080.2022.2099534

In the pipeline: script archive

Within the framework of the NRC-funded project Microdata2, we develop support for archiving microdata.no scripts as separate archiveable and citeable units in Sikt’s archive for research data.

Sikt is a certified research data archive, and has integrations with, among others, DataCite for generating DOIs and support for citation of data.

An important foundation for scripts developed in microdata.no to have good reuse value is the built-in versioning solution which means that a script is always run against its original data.
